WOW!!! Isaiah 7-11 is filled with prophecies about the coming of Jesus. Chapter 7 is the most famous prophecy by Isaiah related to Jesus. It is in this chapter that Isaiah tells Ahaz that a "virgin will conceive, have a son, and name him Immanuel." This is fulfilled in Luke 1:26-35. Chapter 9 continues with more prophecies about Jesus birth and rule. It is important to note that Isaiah 9:6a talks about his first coming; however, Isaiah 9:6b-7 talks about his second coming. Chapter 11:1-16 continues to describe the second coming of Jesus. What a glorious message for believers. We will one day see Jesus in all His glory.

Stuck in between Chapters 7 and 9 is a fufillment of the promise to Ahaz in chapter 7. Before Mahershalal-hash-baz (Isaiah's son) was old enough to know right from wrong Aram was destroyed as promised. Soon after Assyria would destroy Israel (the Northern Kingdom). The Lord of Hosts calls Ahaz and Judah to trust him and not to fear their surroundings. He calls us to do the same. Trust him and do not fear our surroundings. God is Sovereign. His will can not be stopped. Praise the Lord!!!
