Monday January 3

As I look at Genesis 1-3 I see a 24 hour period of creation for each day as we see “the evening and morning were the first day.” This is a hard pill to swallow for many of our scientists today who neglect the truth of scripture or those who try to explain away scripture by looking at it through the lens of science; rather than looking at science through the lens of scripture. I also that God is a God of order as we see a perfect plan moving forward in creation. Nothing kept God from by His words unleashing His creative power to bring about all of creation in a day but instead He had a 7 day plan for a reason. Hmmmm? In the 2nd chapter we see that God created a moral and spiritual boundary as well as a help mate for Adam. We see the first wedding at the end of chapter 2 and the most crucial passage concerning marriage in the scripture as it will be quoted by Jesus and Paul in 2:24-25 In chapter 3 we see the breaking of the moral/spiritual boundary set up by God, the punishment given by God, and a revealment of God’s wonderful grace as God made a covering for Adam and Eve which is a picture of the permanent covering that could be received by every believer by faith at the cross. At the cross we put on His righteousness, but in the garden they put on clothings made by God of animals but for that to happen there had to be a shedding of blood which is a picture of what would happen in the final sacrifice by Jesus on the cross.

  2. Ok this may sound like a child-like question but I want to understand and not just read it...
I take that the serpent represents the devil. The tree of good and evil indicates that satan exists. So does the fall of lucifer happen before God created the heaven and earth? And if so how is that if there was no heaven?

  3. Your doing great! Everything you said makes sense to me. There is more than one type of heaven. The heaven where God exist is where Lucifer was removed from and was not created during the 7 day period. The heavens that are the sky and the heavens that are above the sky in outer space was created during the 7 day period. Keep reading and don't forget that we won't understand everything.

  4. The wonderful thing about reading the bible over again is the new things you find or take light of. For instance, on a previous reading of Genesis, I was amazed how God become plural in GN 1:26. As stated in JN 1:1-4, 14(NLT),” In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God and the Word was God…” (v14) “So the word became human and made his home among us…” It is made evident that Jesus was there with the Father during creation. One could only imagine the scene as God blew breathe into man and started his glorious plan rolling. Even more to consider, would be Jesus’ love for us; knowing at that moment the price He would pay for man.
In my reading today, I found 3:9 interesting as God called out to man, “Where are you?” Certainly God was aware of man’s presence but maybe the question was pertaining to where was man’s obedience to his will. This is certainly a question I ask myself daily.
    Just a thought.

  5. Pastor Bobby, Your blog was very interesting to me because I had never caught the picture of God covering Adam and Eve with the clothing, with the fact that it caused the shedding of animals blood, which was a picture of the final sacrifice by Jesus on the cross.
